QSL Information

As from October 2002, I am personally handling all QSL requests, and you can be rest assured that you will get a QSL if you follow my instructions.

There has been some stations I worked in the past from other countries that might have not received a card. If you are one of them, be assured, that I am answering every card I receive. Thousands of cards left my desk via direct airmail the last few months. There has been records lost of cards sent, so if you really need the card from that country, please re-submit your request, as I did not get it. I do get reports of people that have received their cards, so at least I am getting there.....

Sending your card: (Please read this carefully!)
Please ensure that you adhere to the following instructions, and you will get a card 100%. Processing these cards takes time, and you will make my job easier and ensure that more cards get mailed.

I DO NOT ACCEPT NOR REPLY TO ELECTRONIC QSL CARDS!  (i.e. eQSL.net)

  1. I only QSL direct.
Please do not waste your card, and time of your QSL buro to send a card via the buro. I have been criticized by some ZS "Big Guns" for this on the Internet. It is so easy to criticize someone when you don't have the nuts to do what they do.......It took me a lot of effort, and in some cases thousands of dollars in expenses to get a license, but in the end, I achieved my goal - I give many a new country on the bands.

I am a normal working person just like you, that works for a salary and has a family to support. It takes time to do these cards, and I also feel it is not fair to the QSL buro to sit with thousands of these cards. I feel if you need a card for this country, you will send your card direct, and you will get a card back direct by airmail.

  2. Please include 1 Green stamp or 2 IRC's with your QSL card.
(An additional GS would be appreciated for my equipment fund, BUT is not compulsory at all!!!)

I have been again criticized by some for this, and here is my explanation:
I fund all my trips myself. Every penny I spend to set up and work you, comes out of my pocket. If I was a millionaire or had support from a DX foundation etc., I would have sent you a QSL card without asking anything. I am not getting any assistance from any organization to fund or sponsor me. The 1/2 Green stamps you send goes to help cover my trip expenses as well as to fund equipment and of course getting your card out to you. By the way, all my QSL cards gets mailed from the U.S.A. as of February 2005.

Please do not send postage stamps, as this has been a great headache for me in the past.

Some might argue that this is not in the spirit of Ham Radio, but here is the reality: Although this is just a hobby, it costs money to make these trips.

I felt it appropriate to at least be honest and give you an explanation, so I decided to publish it on this site.

  3. QSL address:

Please submit your QSL request to:
    C91Z
    Andre van Wyk
    13187 ALBERT MOOREHEAD ROAD
    CONROE, TEXAS 77302
    U.S.A.

  4. When you receive my QSL card, it would be nice to get a short e-mail from you just to say you received it. This is only an optional request, and only if it is possible for you to do so.

Should you require any information, kindly e-mail me.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
